Professional liability — widely called errors & omissions (E&O) — responds to claims that your professional work, advice, or services caused a client financial loss. It is the category most directly matched to knowledge work: the deliverable itself is the risk, not a slip-and-fall. For developers and IT freelancers, the technology E&O variant is the usual form.
